Monday – This morning we set off on our Highland adventure, with comfort stops en route, and arrive at the hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
Tuesday – We take the coach to Inverness and board one of the Great Railway Journeys of the World – the Kyle Line. The route takes us through some spectacular scenery, skirting lochs and remote villages before arriving at the small village of Kyle of Lochalsh where we have some free time for lunch before the return journey.
Wednesday – This morning we travel along the shore of Loch Laggan and through Glen Spean to Fort William. Here we board the train for a journey on the world famous West Highland Line to Mallaig, passing over the sepctacular Glenfinnan Viaduct of Harry Potter fame. We have free time in the small fishing town of Mallaig before our return journey takes us back to meet the coach at Fort William.
Thursday – This morning we have some free time in Kingussie before joining the coach to spend some time in Inverness – the capital of the Highlands.
Friday – After another hearty breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way homewards with very fond memories of our time in the Scottish Highlands. We will call in at the Kelpies for a comfort stop.
